Charismatic Movement:
Rebirth of Witchcraft in America
They say, “We seek the baptism of fire” (Matt. 3:11). You will understand perfectly why close attention must be given to this religion when you read the next verse- 12 “Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Those baptized in fire are recipients of hell-fire. Not many have knowledge of using Bible and historical events to investigate the doctrine that is taught by modern religions that calls itself “Pentecostalism.” To know how it works and what happens to anyone that trusts the leaders of this doctrine, will find that a participant of this religion must freely allow a physical sensation to overwhelm their consciousness (like a loud-frenzied rock and roll concert). They must willingly surrender their normal senses and self-control for the paranormal. It is strange indeed for anyone to seek something mysterious to overpower self-awareness. Yet, they are convinced it is fitting, because their leaders tell them that it is the power of the Holy Spirit that makes them act shockingly. If they were told the truth, that it is in reality the doctrine of demons (1 Timothy 4:1), they would heartily reject it.
When the honest begin a quest for truth, an expression of fear comes upon them when they realize that there is no evidence God ever took control of anyone, but the devil and his demons causes irrational behavior. The Holy Spirit does not overpower anyone, because He announced in 1 Peter 5:8 --“Be of a sober spirit and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour”. Satan desires to deceive and seek an outward source to control you (such as loud music or shouting).
What sort of obsession would cause people to howl, scream, jump, speak unintelligently and jerk uncontrollably? It calls itself the Pentecostal religion. There is no sign or hint of this on the day of Pentecost, but when the religion started in 1906, its roots are traced to the practice and doctrine of ancient pagan rituals. Those who investigate sorcery see the parallel rationale of witchcraft and Pentecostalism.
Bible students find nothing in common with the dark ritual that causes someone to lose control of their senses. To know God’s word is to know the truth about this evil work that calls itself a religion, but is a rebirth of witchcraft.
¨ Christianizing Witchcraft
There was never a time or place in history that God required His child to be out of control of his senses, for only Satan profits from that.
Pentecostalism never existed until 1906, when Charles Fox Parham at 503 Rusk Street in Houston, Texas taught a school of religion to advance a pattern similar to ancient pagan rituals. A student of Parham’s, William Joseph Seymour (son of a former slave) blueprinted the modern “Pentecostal” movement at Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles. People were drawn to the music and excitement 3 times a day, seven days a week for three years seeking baptism of Holy Spirit. They shouted and clapped their hands, with dancing and aerobatics until they worked themselves into undisciplined frenzy (i.e., voodoos). Participants were taught how to loose all control of mind and body in this ritual service. Joseph Seymour remained with the Azusa church until his death in 1922.
The Bible forbids “lost of self-control” as demons manipulated people in Bible times (Matt 7:21-23; 17:15; Mark 5:1-5; Lk. 9:41-42). Today’s ritual also strives to get people to voluntarily “shake off” control of ones’ sanity.
¨ “Let Loose and Let Go”
No one knows the meaning of this. The ritual of “letting go” asks one to allow himself to work hard at removal of their right mind. The victim is then moved into a behavior of doing things in the church house that they would not do in the general public. I asked them to come out from behind closed doors and show this behavior in Wal-Mart, but to this day there are no takers. They will go door-to-door calmly selling peanut brittle. Those who practice such cannot find a word of what they practice in the Bible, but it is recorded in the ancient books of dark mysticism. Have you studied the parallel of sorcery and Pentecostalism?
¨ “Slain In The Spirit”
They turn away from reality, liability and responsibility of a sane and serious worshipper of God and become ritual addicts, In every assemble seeking the pleasure of falling into a stupor and having seizures. In the Bible the only ones that acted in this manner were those overpowered by demons.
“Being slain in the spirit” is clearly not in the image of God, but asking for surrender to a dark power.
What power does the Holy Spirit supply for Christians? “The Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). Christian worship is spiritual (John 4:24), not a physical agitation.
¨ A First For Paganism
Not until 1906 did mysticism try so hard to use Christianity as a foundation to appear legitimate. God cannot be glorified or worshipped with this indecent behavior. The Holy Spirit never attacked anyone to cause him or her to look foolish or do crazy things.
Jerking, babbling, twitching, rolling on the floor, moaning and screaming is pure script out of the “Book of Black Magic”. Unlearned souls that are intensely superstitious and seek an overwhelming power will be duped into these dark practices. They have no concept that the Holy Spirit said in 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, “Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
Benny Hind, and others like him know that getting those who know not the Bible Way of worship depend on the power of voodoo. To be ignorant of the Bible can lead to accepting a religion based on fleshly sensations and bodily reactions. In the heat of the frenzy produced by these obsessions, they feel that they are in a “lively” religion. They want to believe that it is true God who overwhelms them with involuntary body gestures and reactions.
¨ Formula For Pentecostalism
There are a number of religions that follow some portion or all of the Pentecostal doctrine. There are the small radical and strict denominations to the larger groups moving in the direction of easy and liberal to receive a larger acceptance in their community. In the radical movement they begin their meetings in a quiet atmosphere, well mannered, diplomatic and cordial, UNTIL an outburst, with the rise of loud music, a leader begins a routine that can become chaotic without restraint and no one knows what will follow or where it will lead.
Let us go back to a place and time of people gathering for the desire of a bodily sensation that produces an occasion for out of the mind experience, by the swift beat of music, closing their eyes, they deeply seek to enter an inattentive state of mind. The leader will speak in a pitch that rises and falls. Heads begin to bob, and moans will rise in crescendo, until it becomes a shrill. At this point the body begins to take a different personality. When disarray controls their assembly, those who seek to enter the dark stimulus are ready to let go of all reality. Sound judgment of mind must be replaced by outward hysterical reaction. You are witnessing the pagan rituals that had a rebirth in the Charismatic movement today. The voodoo society of Africa upon witnessing some Americans loosing all restraint of their senses, said, “they are like are practice in voodoo. I saw the similarity, do you?
Christians cannot offer to God animal (sensual) passions, because worship in spirit and truth is to be decent and orderly: “We worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3). The “charismatic movement” teaches the opposite.
¨ True Worship
God set the mood for His church in worship and service by instruction of 1 Cor 14:40- “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Our assembly is to be done in an appropriate and becoming manner, decorously, as becomes the worship of God. Let all be done in order, regularly, without confusion, discord, tumult. I’ve had these devotees say, “I don’t care what the Bible says, I like it and I will always do it.”
Vain worship destroys the guidance of the word of God, and the keeping of His commandments (2 Timothy 2:15-16). Christians will not be deceived into convulsing, seizures and loosing self-control of mind, but a life of “peace, joy and comfort in the Holy Spirit” taught by Jesus Christ.
¨ The Face of False Worship
James 3:15 gives explanation of today’s charismatic movement by revealing the methods it uses, which are earthly (originates only in this world, opposite of spiritual knowledge), bodily sensations (which come from gratifying the flesh), and demonic
The mother of Pentecostalism is Witchcraft. The voodooist, witchcraft and demonist adopted a new name in Houston, Texas in 1906—“Pentecostalism”. Its doctrine is not in the Bible. Disciples of the New Testament pattern refuse Pentecostalism, because the Holy Spirit exposed this religion as an offshoot of Satan worship.
The Bible is clear of God’s feelings toward the works of sorcery (Galatians 5:20) and the acceptance of the doctrine of demons -- 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to deceitful spirits, and doctrines of demons.”
Note for history students: One of the greatest motivational speakers who moved tens of thousands of ignorant souls to “let go” and follow him was a leader named Adolph Hitler of Germany in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The exact schemes and routine to spellbind the gullible is being used today on the ignorant. Jesus, gently and lovingly builds up our inner soul to produce salvation and serve God with our entire mind, which removes the spirit of error and doctrine of demons that seek control over us in the last days. --Jerral Kay
